A day we have all been dreading, Inauguration Day in this shithole country. Well, half of us have been dreading it and literally ALL of my friends and virtually all of my family. I'm sure there are some fools in the family even if they are keeping it quiet.
But, we can't let the bastards win. My friend, 8, posted about the importance of kindness and she is absolutely right. Besides organizing and reaching out to those most severely impacted by the incoming administration, spreading kindness can only help.
Oh, me? I have spent the last week taking care of a friend who surgery. That seems to be my retirement occupation. Unpaid occupation. But, I am very grateful to have good friends and if I can help them in their time of need, then I am lucky to be able to do so. It's another tally on the kindness spectrum.
I am worried about the next four years. I won't let the incoming bastards destroy my life, but I am worried. We will have a lot to do when their term ends. In the meantime, we've got to hold to our beliefs and stay strong for each other.
